CFS Framework

As depicted in the diagram above, CFS forms an important integration channel between Operational Towers and Business. It also provides optimum integration with Enterprise Architecture and “Change the Business” organization. It is extremely important that the right set of requirements flow down from Business and Enterprise Architecture to the operational towers so that the tasks performed at the operational layers are in alignment with Business Requirements and are flexible to accommodate the sudden changes that come up due to Business Dynamics.

The components within the Cross Functional Services organization are internally integrated and well governed through the IT governance layer. The Integrated Command Centre at the bottom most layer of CFS organization not only integrates with each of the Operational Towers but also acts as a management layer for all the Towers.

CFS also provides Business level visibility in terms of impact of each operational tower on the business, achievement of overall Service Level Management and compliance towards the security, process and risk parameters that have been defined by Business and IT.

Many of the regulatory & compliance require each functional group to adopt & implement necessary controls and also preserve and report on evidence for adherence to compliance requirements. In a functional silo based structure, this requires coordination across the silo boundaries and can lead to overheads. In order to streamline these activities and leverage functionalities that may lie outside the boundaries of a specific functional group, the cross functional layer is responsible for driving risk management and compliance as a cross functional subject.
